Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule online: Book Here. You can also call, text, or email Lauryn for an appointment, or fill out the form on the Contact page and she will get back to you!
Why do all new patients need a new evaluation appointment?
This appointment is very important so Lauryn can get to know you, your injury, and your goals. She will spend this appointment doing movement screens and test different things like your range of motion and strength to determine the diagnosis and the plan of care. She will discuss the findings with you and will most likely begin some treatment with you on this first visit.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not take insurance, but check your out-of-network benefits, as most insurance companies will reimburse you for most or all of your visit. Upon request I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company.
Why don’t you take insurance?
At SportsFit Physical Therapy, Lauryn prides herself on giving everyone the best quality care. When going through your insurance, it does not allow her to provide this type of care. Unlike most physical therapy clinics that accept insurance, here you will get one-on-one care that will allow you to get better faster, most often leading to fewer visits needed, and ultimately less money spent!
Do I need a prescription from a doctor or a referral to see you?
No, you do not need a prescription or a referral to see Lauryn. In Massachusetts and New Hampshire we have direct access, meaning you can go straight to a physical therapist for treatment without seeing a doctor first.
Do I need to be injured to come see you?
Definitely not! Lauryn does not just treat injuries; come get a movement assessment, see how you can prevent injuries, or work on your mobility so you can move safely and stay injury free!
How do I pay?
You can pay with cash, credit card, Venmo, or FSA/HSA card.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment. For cancellations under 24 hours there will be a fee as this time is being reserved to give you one-on-one care.
I have Medicare (or Mass Health) can you treat me?
Unfortunately, Lauryn cannot provide you with any physical therapy services if you have Medicare or Mass Health as it is against the law. But if you need some personal training to develop a strengthening routine or dry needling, let her know!
What can I expect in my first appointment?
Please wear comfortable clothing that will not restrict your movements (think gym clothes), be prepared to move around. Just because Lauryn does a lot of needling, don’t get nervous: we will discuss if this is the right treatment option for you! You will leave your first session with an understanding of what is wrong and how we are going to fix it, as well as some treatment and some homework to do.
How Do I know if I have Out-of-network benefits?
You can call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask if you have out of network benefits. If you do, ask them what percentage they cover.
